Windows 2000/NT Fax Server
A powerful communication engine, it runs as an NT Service format and offers an exceptional level of reliability. Capable of managing multiple processor architecture, it is evolutionary and can manage increases in your communications traffic up to a maximum of 256 simultaneous communications. Compatible with the majority of hardware solutions on the market (Fax boards, ISDN units and modem racks), it will adapt perfectly to your traffic set-up. Using very little in terms of system resources, it does not require a dedicated server.
Server manager The server management tool enables you to remotely monitor and set-up several transmission engines. In this way, the administrator can have real time access to line activity, the outgoing Fax spooler and traffic statistics and costs. Transmission and reception logs as well as hardware breakdowns shown in the NT events manager are also accessible from this tool.
Spoolers Thanks to spooler management, the number of transmission requests is unlimited. These are processed in accordance with line occupation, the time and sending priority. For example, priority management enables you to request a Fax mail-shot to several thousand recipients without delaying the sending of urgent mail.
Microsoft Outlook Email Client Software
Fax Traffic Management All Outlook Clients automatically have the benefit of Fax transmission and reception functions. In this way, users of the messaging service can send Faxes in the same way as e-mails without any training being required. Attachments are automatically converted into fax pages, the cover page being compiled from the body of the message sent. Depending on their rights, the user can modify the cover page, billing account and transmission options. With DID (ISDN) routing, incoming Faxes are received directly into the inbox and can be written on, signed, stamped and re-sent.
Print driver The installation of a print driver enables users to send Faxes directly from all Windows and Macintosh applications. Using the same option, the user can access the Exchange 2000 messaging service address books. In this way, transmitted documents pass through the "Outbox", and can be re-found in the "Sent Items" box.
Mail-shots In addition to the use of distribution lists, the creation of mail-shots is greatly facilitated by being able to use the use of Word's mail merge option. For large scale mail-shots, an interface with all the ODBC databases is available.
Windows 2000 Integrated Administration
The setting up and management of RTE FAX user rights is carried out in MMC (Microsoft Management Console). Indeed, all RTE FAX settings are stored in the Active Directory and can be modified using the extensions integrated into the Windows and Exchange administration tools. You benefit from Windows 2000 administration (remote administration, centralised backup, secured access management, etc.).
User rights The administrator manages users and allocates them various rights (default cover page, right to change it, unauthorised Fax numbers, billing account, transmission receipt printing, etc.).
Setting up the connector The setting up of the routing table, irrespective of the method used (DID/ISDN, DTMF, CSID), enables the automatic routing of incoming Faxes to personal mailboxes, mail databases archive folders and/or printers. Numerous settings, such as the optimisation of sending costs by defining cheap rate transmission times are also available.
